Wal Mart seems to be handling this a little bit better than Series X where there was only 1 time (noon) and that was it.
Next year, cheaper, safer and with many games on sale.

Thanks to Sony managing stock and marketing like a toddler, I'll be able to fully enjoy Age of Calamity on the 20th. And since I can't get a PS5 day one. I'll probably wait a year or so to find most launch games with a big discount. Your loss So-Sony

Stupid Uk release dates! I’ve got my controller, headset and media remote being delivered tomorrow but have to wait a week for the console. Who thought that was a good idea.
I’m sure Covid has had some effect on availability but I’m also sure that come Xmas time these machines will suddenly and miraculously become available again. Let’s be realistic.

Having just experienced the *****-show of PS5 ordering (round 2) in Australia... be prepared for disappointment and frustration. I think there may have been a dozen on sale (I'm exaggerating) for the whole continent. Needless to say.. that's why I'm spending my evening typing comments, rather than planning my unboxing experience.
@Arnna nice dream... but the new orders in Australia at least are mostly coming with a Dec 16-17 time frame... yes, it's possible they will have a 3rd wave - however, at least some of the retailers here are now saying March-April before the next shipment. Which is absolutely crazy (and I hope they're mad).

I got mines from BB but had to wait 2 days after launch cause BB didnt ship it til last minute.
I feel relieved cause some people still cant get one cause the scalpers keep sniping them from stock whenever its available. Wonder who keeps buying em for $2000 on ebay. Stop supporting the scalpers!!!
I already reserved mine for January 2021 in Europe so I'm good to go! I am going to get my first generation PS5.
I was able to get mine disc version through PlayStation direct on Friday evening. Had to do some browser and HTML hackery on the website to get around the queue redirect and the out-of-stock popup while going through the add-to-cart and checkout processes.

Why did they not make it easy for loyal playstation gamers on the playstation store to get a look in.

Yes, they took the money out. They didn’t specifically send me an email saying so, but sent me one saying: “Good news! We just wanted to let you know we are now starting to process your ore order and it will be dispatched the day before release by the delivery method below”.

Best of luck. I’m sure they would have let you and others know if there was an issue. It’s perhaps just an automated message for when it’s processed with the courier or they get around to taking your money.

welp I'm in a digital queue in curry's right now with over 100,000 people in it. Safe to say I won't be getting a console...lol
US should be counting their blessings, even if the consoles were not enough on the 12th, they at least got a chance to buy one, and more are on the way it seems.
The situation can actually be worse.
In Europe, in my country, on the 2 biggest stores websites (that also had a few consoles in September for Preorders) : one passed both PS5 consoles on their respective Playstation 5 web page, from Unavailable, that was up until the 18th, straight to Out of stock, a few hours before midnight 19 Nov.
And the other removed the console's page altogether, although it was there up until the 18th, with the stock situation as Unavailable.
And on multiple smaller store's sites the console is Out of stock.
So we weren't even given the chance to catch one, it was out of stock everywhere before 19th even began, and after.
The consoles they received went straight to fulfilling the preorders, and what was left was not put for sale, instead was reserved for the store's employees and whoever they knew and wanted to buy a PS5 (yeah, that's actually a thing, confirmed by many).
So there you go... for some it's the most f..ked up launch in PS history.
Btw, found 1 PS5 Digital ED on Amazon UK that sells for £999.00
Even the scalpers sell them cheaper on Ebay, so thanks, but no thanks.

I kept refreshing amazon uk at midnight and only 3rd party scalpers had them for sale at £1000+ and games site froze.
I was hot on it at might night launch and had no chance i am in a cue now at game and it's massive so might have to give up as it looks like over an hour wait.
I just don't understand how people are able to get a console. The site (Walmart) breaks for the 10 minutes when the console becomes available, and by the time it stops breaking, the item is out of stock.
Walmart was out of stock in 11 minutes. I had it in my cart and it kept erroring out at checkout

It's time to stop with online-only purchase of these consoles.
I mean, retailers are already doing Black Friday and taking COVID precautions. So, why should things be any different for in-store stock of PS5 and Xbox Series consoles?!
Scalpers will continue to be the primary source of these consoles until retailers stop making the internet the only way to get them.
The only positive thing out of this heart breaking launch is it gives me time to sort my s*** out ie.. upgrade the telle and a better stand and have everything in order ready deep into 2021 Q2orQ3 when they restock to get the best ps5 experience i can.

What's the point scalpers will get them all and it will be an issue until the pandemic is over and they can get them into shops, Sony isn't doing anything about it but could make up a system if they wanted to I'm sure. But until the world is out and about and can know c19 isn't as bad and shops open and stock is there physically online orders for demanding stuff will be scalped
So after going live at 9:00 PM, and getting 5 or 6 errors in adding the console to my cart, the entire stock apparently got sold in less than a minute, and I missed it.
I tried and failed to get one. Im hoping by my birthday in March things will be looking better.
I wonder how much money Sony is losing with all these PS5's sitting in scalpers garage instead of in the hands of gamers? Gamers would be spending money on the Playstation Store.

Here in the UK some independent stores I know of are getting in more stock in next 3 days.... so keep trying people
Over 50 people waited since 11pm yesterday outside of GameStop in the mall I work and they only had 2 😂 This makes me want to wait as long as possible to get one.
@Fenbops Yeah but his point is that they don't make money off console sales, they make it off software and subscriptions. If they sold a billion PS5s but no one bought any games or subbed to PS+, they'd still lose money. That said, I seriously doubt anywhere near the majority of consoles were sold to scalpers so it should only make a slight difference.

Amazon only had scalpers selling them for £850+1400 and the game site crashed it was a nightmare.
Day 2 on the game site they where making people wait over an hour to get a ps5 when they had stock so i waited ages in an online cue and gave up.

If not there at the right time forget it... none of them state the time they will put the devices up for sale so unless your a bot it’s pointless..

I'm debating over paying but I feel once I do it will be everywhere.
We have all seen this movie of a console before...a peak will occur leading up to 1/1/21 as Christmas-returns occur stock will see a bump. Then post Christmas-present-purchase will further cause stock to ascend and ebay scaplers will take hopefully a hard gut shot to their prices. Within the next 6 weeks I suspect we will be getting into a point of easily during "that given week (maybe not day)" finding a unit. In the meantime- at least we have the entertainment of jpg post to screw bots on ebay to stick to it scalpers.
@legalstep I have a feeling ps5 won’t be in good supply for quite a while yet. Demand seems insanely high from what I can tell.
I got one delivered yesterday after adding it to my EE phone contract! Only trouble now is that it has to stay in it's box until Xmas as it's 'for my son'!
